In Dying Light: The Beast, you play as Kyle, a man who has been experimented on by an evil man named the Baron. In order to get rid of the Baron and save the remaining people, you will need to complete a laundry list of quests.

One of the many side quests you can take on is called Precious Cargo. This convoluted quest requires you to find some missing ammo that ended up in the river. To do this, you need to find it, pull it out with a crane, then secure the area for the Town Hall residents to take it in Dying Light: The Beast.

Starting Precious Cargo: Talk to Keller

Keller in Town Hall is the one who gives you this quest; it becomes available fairly early in the game. If the quest marker for him is not available yet, you may need to progress the story a bit before it appears. Keller tells you that some much-needed ammunition has gone missing, and you are the only one who can get it for them. In the battle between the Baron and the other humans left living in the area, every bullet counts.

Keller will send you to the Industrial Park to the north of the town, just south of the High Bus Refuge Safe Zone in Dying Light: The Beast. In this location, you’ll find the trailer filled with ammo at the bottom of the water.

Open the Container

You need to go to the location on the map above and swim down to the container filled with the ammo at the bottom of the water. You will attempt to open it, but Kyle will be unable to. He will decide to use one of the cranes to get it out of the water.

Get the Container Out of the Water

The next step, called Get the Container Out of the Water, requires that you look at different cranes to see which one is working. The location of the working crane is shown in the image above.

Find the Way into the Warehouse

Interact with the panel inside the crane, and the magnetic crane attachment will short out. You need to now head into the building across the water to find an electrical box as a work-around to redirect some power to the crane. The image above shows the entrance to the warehouse.

Find the Electrical Switchgear

In order to get down into the basement, you will need to get from the second floor, where you start, down the stairs to the first floor, then lockpick a locked door to find the hole in the floor. The video above will show the way to get around in order to get into the basement and find the powerswitches.

Make sure to watch out for the infected as you walk through this section of this open-world game with aggressive enemies.

Create an Emergency Power Bypass for the Crane

Next, you need to connect the second powerswitch inside the office on the second floor of the crane itself. You need to interact with the second powerswitch, take it out of the door to the right of it, then swim across the water back to the crane and plug it in. Interact with the controls of the crane to get to the next section.

Should You Give Up Some Ammo in Precious Cargo?

Once you finish getting the container out of the water, you will be confronted by a handful of other humans. They aren’t interested in fighting; they just want one of the crates of ammo to help themselves against the zombies and the Baron. You have the choice to either give them one box or tell them no.

Give Them One Crate

If you decide to give them one crate, they will take it and leave, and you have to explain to Keller why some of his ammo is missing. He will forgive you, and you will earn some rewards:

  • Pistol Ammo x2
  • 8000 XP
  • Beginner Manual Pages x2
  • Keller’s Lucky Bullet

Tell Them No

If you tell these bandits no, they will take one of the crates anyway. You will have to chase them down to get it back, killing all of them. Keller will be happy that you saved all the bullets, but it takes a lot longer to complete without giving you much more loot (only x2 more Pistol Ammo). Either way you choose, you will complete this side quest needed to complete the all side quest achievement in Dying Light: The Beast.

Does This Choice Change Anything?

It does not. Whether you chase down the bandits or not, you will be able to loot the bandit’s house. Keller will end up not caring either way, so it is just your choice whether you want to take down these bandits who helped you with the infected in the warehouse or not.
