According to , United and Lecce have a 'verbal agreement' in place over signing the 20-year-old for €30m (£25.2m) plus €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons. He adds documents will be checked in the next 24 hours, with Romano giving his customary 'here we go!' remark to signal the deal is virtually done.

After having a smaller bid rejected, it seems the Red Devils have got their man in the Denmark international. If signed, he would become head coach Ruben Amorim's first United transfer.

Lecce president Saverio Sticchi Damiani said the Italian team were trying to "resist" United's advances but ultimately the Premier League side have won out.
